"don't worry about things over which you have no control"

"if you can't change your fate, change your attitude"

"it's your own fears that give them [boogieman] the power to chase you" ---- amy tan is certainly an interesting person.

The Role of Habit

Habit rules our life to an amazing degree. From the smallest personal habits (such as how we comb our hair or brush our teeth) to our basic attitudes toward self and others. And these patterns-- which rule our lives and largely determine the outcome of our encounters-- are, to a large degree, out of awareness.

Since birth, we have been trying to figure out what works and what doesn't work as we live our lives. Instead of inventing it all from scratch, we borrow many of our basic ideas and patterns of behavior from our parents and others close to us.

Some of our habits of thought and patterns of behavior work well for us. Without certain values and ways of thinking (about learning, reading, the value of an education, etc.). Other values and ways of thinking and relating actually make our life more difficult. If only we saw them clearly we would change them. Not because someone else said we should but because we ourselves would want to.

The difficulty is in getting ourselves to actually look. Our habits are OURS-- and therefore comfortably familar. There is a scary quality to looking at ourselves with fresh eyes. So it turns out that a degree of courage is required. It is through seeing clearly that we can make the choices that fit us best.

Fear of change. When people say they are stubborn because they are lazy or whatever it is. It is an excuse, one of the many reasons why someone is stubborn is because they may fear change.

P.S. Give meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee a fat hug :D

THIS is your life.
This IS your life.
This is YOUR life.
This is your LIFE.

as you know, life passes by too quickly.. and no one really thinks or stays in their present life, always looking in the past or in the future and rarely in the present..

in the past, what could've been.. what should've been.. the negative memories (sadness).. the good memories (happiness).. etc

in the future, what will happen.. what won't happen.. what i want.. what i can't have.. what materialistic things i want.. etc

by the time the past has past, it becomes the present.. then when you think about the present it already becomes your future..

so let me ask you these questions..

in the present...

do you truly appreciate things that others do for you? do you feel appreciated (for the things you do)? are you taken for granted? do you take others for granted?

stuff like that.

it's okay to forget, but remember to acknowledge~ take some time in your day to appreciate. what 24/7 in a day do you have that you can't spare to appreciate?

why are we (not everyone) so into making the big bucks and neglecting our families/friends (not everyone)? how are we truly happy when money is all we have at the end? i don't know about you guys, but for a while i was worrying about college~ and making money to save for college, when you think about it.. why bother? you'll just be broke if you don't.. haha jk, but after you've made enough your mind wants to keep on going to make more.. and more.. (btw, that is called workaholism) but what's the point? if you have no time with family + friends, what friends will you have at the end? you'll most likely always have your family.. money should be spent together.. eating is a good thing and toying around =]

health is very important too.. take care of your health and sleep enough~

sa rang hae ~ ngoh ho oi neih.. ngoh mui yuht doh num gun neih.. ho serng neih hoi sum di..

when one door of happiness closes, another opens.. but often we look so long at the closed door that.. we do not see the one which has been opened for us the happiest of ppl don't necessarily have the best of everything they just make the most of everything that comes along their way to handle yourself, use your head.. to handle others, use your heart.. anger is only one letter short of danger.. if someone betrays you once, it is their fault.. if they betray you twice, it is your fault.. friends, you & me.. you brought another friend & then there were three.. we started our group.. our circle of friends & like that circle, there is no beginning or end.. you can be the star of my yesterdays.. the highlight of my todays.. and the secret of my tomorrows.. cuz yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift.. that is why they call it the present
